Does DTF employ overseas students?

Yes, non-permanent residents who have an appropriate visa are eligible for fixed term appointments. However, the Vacation Employment Program is designed as a forerunner to the Graduate Development Program. To be eligible for the Graduate Program participants must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status.
Priority may therefore be focused towards students who have the opportunity to enter the 2008 Graduate program.

How do I apply for the Vacation Employment Program?

When advertised (annually- around the end of August), vacation opportunities are posted on DTF’s website under Jobs, Jobs WA Government, and through WA Universities- Career Centres or other relevant media. Prospective applicants are encouraged to use the “on-line” application process in the Jobs WA advertisement link. |

Can I apply for more than one Vacation Employment Stream?

Yes, you are welcome to apply for any Employment Stream for which you believe you have the relevant qualifications and attributes.
It is important that we try to place you in a work area that you are most interested in exploring. We can then match you with meaningful and challenging work and the appropriate development opportunities. In the application form, you will be asked to nominate in order of preference the stream(s) for which you would like to be considered.

How do I obtain an electronic version of my official academic transcripts?

Some tertiary institutions supply their students with electronic versions of their academic transcripts, or alternatively the paper version may be electronically scanned and attached to your online application. Various organisations provide scanning services, such as Australia Post, local public libraries and university IT centres. |
