What is Corporate Services?

Corporate - rolesThe role of the Corporate Services Division is to provide the Department with essential support services and to promote leading business practices.

The Corporate Services Division coordinates the Department's strategic development and a wide range of activities to ensure the delivery of effective corporate services to customers.

Major activities include:

  • Coordinating the delivery of strategic development through the Department's governance structure and a wide range of activities that, in combination, ensure corporate services are effectively delivered to customers; and
  • Core business support through the provision of information technology systems, records management, internal audit, people management, finance and communication services.

What type of work will I be involved in?

The type of work you will be involved in will depend on the branch you are allocated too, which will be either:

  • People and Organisational Development (POD);
  • Human Resources (HR); or
  • Finance and Business Services (FBS).

POD provides strategic human resource management services, organisational development, corporate communications and corporate systems support.  As a graduate you will be involved in the strategic implementation of our People Strategy which provides key sourcing, retention and development support to the whole of DTF.  

The FBS branch provides financial management services to ensure our customers are provided with efficient and cost-effective services, delivered in an accountable manner to support the core activities of the Department and contribute to its success. As a graduate you will be involved in budgeting, reporting and asset management and you will work within a supportive business environment that will enhance your financial accounting and budget management skills.

The HR branch is multi functional and provides a wide range of Human Resource services to the whole of DTF. As a graduate you will be involved in human resource administration,recruitment, payroll and establishment and classifications. Working within this field you will be involved in dynamic and contemporary human resource practices.
