Natalie, Graduate Program 2008

What attracted you to the DTF graduate program?
With so many job opportunities in the current booming job market, deciding which organisation to go and work for is a tough decision!

For me, there were a couple of reasons why I chose the DTF graduate program over other firms; the opportunity to be able to use and apply my HR/Psychology degree, the training and development program and the great flexible working conditions.

What interesting work/projects have you been involved in?
From day one I have been involved in really interesting projects, such as being involved in a recruitment review project, which involved looking at the recruitment practices throughout the whole of DTF and making recommendations for improvement.

During this project I have had the opportunity to consult with, and conduct interviews, with public and private sector HR consultants in order to identify best practice in the current field of recruitment. I have also had the opportunity to meet with, and present too, DTF reference groups to implement these changes throughout DTF.

Currently I am assisting with the graduate sourcing and development program and I have had the opportunity to re-design the graduate webpage and help organise and attend career fairs and seminars at universities.

What do you like about working at DTF?
The people are great, really friendly and supportive, which makes DTF an enjoyable place to work.  As well as the interesting work I have been involved in, I also enjoy the flexible working arrangements, where you can do things like work for 4 years on 80% pay and take the 5th year off and get paid leave, which is great for someone like me who wants to eventually travel the world!

Also you can start work anywhere between 7am and 9.30am and can finish anywhere between 3.30pm and 6.00pm. So if I have afternoon sport on, or things to organise in the afternoon I come into work a little earlier and leave a little earlier. There is also the opportunity to get involved in DTF social sports teams and through the wellness program you can do pilates/yoga in your lunch break. So for me, the combination of great people, interesting work and the work-life balance promoted at DTF make it a really enjoyable place to work.
