Regulatory Reform
The Regulatory Reform Division coordinates Western Australia’s input to the Business Regulation and Competition Working Group (BRCWG) of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). Details on the BRCWG agenda is available on the COAG website www.coag.gov.au
The objectives of the BRCWG were agreed to at the COAG meeting of 20 December 2007. They are to:
accelerate and broaden the regulation reduction agenda
accelerate the existing COAG hot spots agenda
improve processes for regulation-making and review
deliver significant improvements in Australia’s competition, productivity and international competitiveness.
Advising State Government businesses on the competitive neutrality implications of their activities and facilitating the resolution of neutrality complaints as they arise.
