State Revenue

State Revenue’s mission is 'To administer revenue laws and grant and subsidy schemes in a fair and efficient manner for the community'.

State Revenue began as the State Taxation Department in 1970 and was amalgamated with Treasury in 2001, becoming a business unit of the Department of Treasury and Finance. As an office dedicated to the administration of revenue, grant and subsidy schemes, not all State Revenue clients are taxpayers.

Alongside the tax lines of duties, land tax and pay-roll tax, we also administer the first home owner grant, a pensioner rebate scheme (on behalf of local governments) and other grant and subsidy schemes.
